Where to find your VIN

1. Dashboard: look through the windshield at the lower driver-side corner.
2. Driver door jamb: on the sticker where the door closes.
3. Vehicle title and registration.
4. Insurance card or policy.
5. Service records.
6. Engine bay: front of the engine block or firewall (varies).
7. Manufacturer app or connected-car account.

Tip: take a photo of the VIN and type it carefully – the letters I, O and Q are never used.
